Checkout Upsell

🧭 Introduction

The Checkout Upsell feature allows you to display targeted product offers directly on the checkout page. This is one of the most effective ways to boost sales since customers are already in the purchasing mindset. By offering complementary products at this critical stage, you can increase the order value without interrupting the checkout flow.

For example, if a customer proceeds to checkout with only sunglasses in their cart, you can display upsell offers like a beanie, belt, or cap — encouraging them to add matching accessories before completing their purchase.

💡 Scenario

Imagine a customer browsing your store who decides to purchase a pair of sunglasses. When they reach the checkout page, your Checkout Upsell section automatically appears — showing complementary products such as a beanie, belt, and cap.

Since your condition specifies that the upsell should appear only when the product in the cart is “Sunglasses”, this ensures that customers see the most relevant recommendations. They can quickly add one or more of these items, possibly at a discounted rate, before completing their order — a smooth, high-conversion opportunity that enhances the overall shopping experience.


⚙️ Configuration Steps

Follow these steps to configure your Checkout Upsell section:

  • Navigate to Upsells.
  • Click on Add New.

  • Click on Add.

  1. Go to the General tab.
  2. Choose a Heading Style.
  3. Enter a Title for the heading.
  4. Add a Subtitle (optional — you can remove it if not needed).
  5. Select a Theme.
  6. Choose the Size.
  7. Enable the option to Add a Link to the Products.
  8. Set the Position.
  9. Under Display Customer Conditions, set Exclude if Purchased — ensuring that if a customer has already purchased an offer product, it won’t appear again.
  10. Set a Condition to display the upsell when the Product in Cart is only “Sunglasses”.

  1. Navigate to the Offers tab.
  2. Add Offer 1, then select a product (e.g., beanie).
  3. Set the Quantity.
  4. Add Offer 2, then select a product (e.g., belt).
  5. Set the Discount Type to Percentage and enter a Discount Amount of 25%.
  6. Add Offer 3, then select a product (e.g., cap).
  7. Save your changes.

✅ When a customer visits the Checkout page, and their cart contains only the product “Sunglasses”, your Checkout Upsell section will automatically appear at the top of the checkout page, displaying the selected offers (beanie, belt, and cap) according to your chosen theme, layout, and discount settings.
